I have always been fascinated by the human experience; the culmination of peaks and valleys that make up life as we know it. I most enjoy learning about what makes people laugh, cry, become angry or scared, and really what makes people “tick.” There is no set formula to answer any of these questions, and that is what makes the human experience; life; so fascinating to me.
We may have different life challenges and ways of responding to them, but we are all connected by the experience of joy, grief, hope, disappointment, success, failure, fear, and the like. This enthusiasm I have for people and their stories is what led me to a career in psychology.
Approach

I approach every session with my naturally compassionate, curious, and collaborative nature. I believe that you are the expert on your own life. I am here to provide you with authentic empathy together with a safe environment that will allow for the exploration of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I believe it is my job to help you feel contained in your pain, doubt, and whatever emotions arise through this process of exploration.
I believe that stress, depression, and anxiety arise when we become disconnected from or true selves and when we try to avoid the things about ourselves that we do not like. I will assist you with finding your truth, perhaps rewriting your truth, and with discovering what makes you uniquely you, both the good and the not so good.
My work is to help you to feel empowered by your strengths and even your limits; to help you feel as though you are in control of your life rather than life is happening to you. Ultimately, my goal is to provide you with the atmosphere and tools necessary for you to become the best version of yourself.
